Meet Me

The Mommy
My name is Dominique and I recently became a...WORKING MOM (gasp). My Husband and I were married five years before we decided to step into the deep aka parenting. I thought the 9 (actually 10) months of pregnancy were tough but then I crossed over to the world of the working mommy. This world is filled with deadlines, diapers, spit up, and seminars and I love every minute of it. The first few months were rough but now Im starting to get the hang of this thing. Even though I am still riding this working mommy bike with training wheels I am excited about this journey and I hope this can be a safe place for mommies from all walks of life to share resources and tips of the trade. They say it takes a village to raise a child...but it also takes a village to support a mommy. I'm excited to build that village here!

The Teacher
Well hello, It's me again. Working moms wear many hats and here is hat number two for me (but trust me I have many more). I am a special education teacher. I work with children that have needs that are best served in a small setting classroom. I have been a special education teach for five years and even though I want to pull my hair out sometimes I know that I am exactly where I should be. A passion of mine is behavior and it is also my favorite subject to teach (yes I teach behavior...and it's awesome). Over the years I have found that children that struggle with behavior are truly struggling with communication. So if we can teach children to communicate in a way that meets their needs then we can change their behavior and ultimately their life trajectory.
